New state-of-the-art steel processing equipment coming soon!

As part of a continued investment programme, we will shortly be introducing a new, state-of-the-art steel plate processing machine to our Centre of Excellence in Middlesbrough.

We are excited to announce the extension of our existing Tecoi THOR advanced plate processing capabilities, with the new equipment giving us an additional 6.1m of bed, which will increase our usable production area to 21.1m x 3.05m.

Running two machines simultaneously on this extended bed not only increases capacity for this sought-after steel process, but by using specialist software, allows us to double the speed of production.

‘THOR 2’ will also benefit from a variety of additional functions including:

  • Height sensitive scribing capabilities
  • Hypertherm XPR300 plasma bevel
  • Oxy fuel cutting
  • Drilling / tapping / countersinking and milling functionality.

In addition to this investment, we will also be bringing the first Tecoi TEKNOS machine to the UK. This machine will operate on a 12.3m x 4.1m usable bed, and will incorporate the Hypertherm XPR300 plasma bevel, an oxy fuel cutting torch and a REA INK-JET marking system.

So what will this investment mean to our customers?

  • Increased capacity and reduced lead-times for our value-added processes leading to faster turnaround and time savings.
  • The increased bed length of the THORs means we can process longer plates with drilling, tapping, countersinking and plasma bevelling.
  • The TEKNOS plasma has the major benefit of a 4m wide bed, plasma bevelling and REA inkjet marking.
